<p>Process for the treatment of industrial water by filtration and ion exchange, characterised in that the water to be treated is caused to pass, in the same single column where they are superposed and separated from each other, through a filtrate substrate of granular material and/or a mixed bed of ion exchange resins of high functionality, of density higher than 1. The apparatus, consisting of a single column comprising two superposed compartments, an entry for water to be treated, an outlet for treated water, and an entry and an outlet for washing water, is characterised in that the two compartments 1, 2 are separated by a floor 3 and provided with means of communication between the upper compartment filled with filtering substrate of granular material 1a and the lower compartment filled with a mixed bed 2a of ion exchange resins.
