The invention provides a method for protecting the surface of various kinds of shaped articles made of an organic polymeric material such as rubbers, leathers, woods, plastics and the like against weathering caused by exposure to ultraviolet light, ozone, moisture, etc. The method comprises providing the surface with a coating layer of a specific organopolysiloxane composed of difunctional, tetrafunctional and nonofunctional siloxane units in a limited molar proportion of 50-85%, 10-30% and 5-20%, respectively. |
