The process consists of (a) reacting sulphamic acid with cyclohexylamine in equimolar amounts at around 40 deg. C, using a mixt. of organic solvent with water. Suitable solvents have b. pt. of 110-200 deg. C, e.g. toluene, xylene, dichlorobenzene, etc.; (b) dehydrating the intermediate cyclohexylamine sulphamate in an installation connected to the reactor, and adding another equiv. of cyclohexylamine; and (c) converting to sodium cyclohexyl sulphamate by addn. of soda diluted with water. |
