<p>Compsn. contg. at least 40 wt.% of the alkaloid is new. - Compsn. may be in the form of an inert powder or liq. It is used, when the alkaloid is nicotine, for producing smoking products or as an insecticide. Liquid forms may be used as a printing ink. The alkaloid may be nicotine, anabasine, or nor nicotine. The polymeric acids include polysaccharides modified to increase the number of acid groups present e.g. by carboxyalkylation or esterification with a polyvalent acid. The polysaccharide may be alginic acid, pectin or cellulose. (0/0) USAB- US4574151 A Water soluble salt formed between a naturally occurring polysaccharide polymeric acid modified to increase the average number of acid gps. per saccharide unit and at least 40 % (by wt. of the salt) of an alkaloid is new. The alkaloid is suitably nicotine, anabasine or nornicotine. The polymeric acid may be cmc, carboxybutyl cellulose, cellulose phosphate ester or cellulose borate ester.</p> |
