PURPOSE:To obtain a stable transferred image with high density by using a minute amount of thermal energy and obtain a uniform image density in transferring multiple times, by a method wherein a transfer sheet provided with a transfer layer comprising a leuco dye as a main constituent on one side is provided with a polyfluorocarbon- containing layer having a specified thickness on the other side. CONSTITUTION:The transfer sheet is provided with the polyfluorocarbon-containing layer having a thickness of 0.2-5mum on the back side of a base, and is provided with the transfer layer comprising a leuco dye as a main constituent on the face side of the base. A receiving sheet is provided with a receiving layer comprising a color developer for the dye as a main constituent on a base. To perform thermal transfer, the receiving sheet is laminated on the transfer sheet so that the receiving layer makes contact with the transfer layer. By thermal printing from the back side of the transfer sheet, a desired developed color image is formed on the surface of the receiving sheet. Accordingly, since the polyfluorocarbon-containing layer is provided on the back side of the transfer sheet, no damage is generated even when the same transfer sheet is used multiple times, and a developed color image with a uniform density is obtained on the receiving sheet. |
