The subject-matter of the invention is an arrangement for testing an internal combustion engine which is coupled to an electrical loading machine (2). The electrical loading machine (2) is fed by a rectifier (3, 4) and can be set alternatively to speed or torque control. An adaptive moment controller (25) is arranged upstream of a position control circuit (19, 20, 21, 22) for the hand throttle (18) of the internal combustion engine (1). The moment controller (25) influences the amplification in the control circuit containing the internal combustion engine (1) as final control element or controlled member. For the torque or speed control, the amplification is regulated to a preadjustable, approximately uniform value. <IMAGE>
