A fluid logic device, e.g. a bi-stable device, Fig. 4, is characterized in that the fluid interaction chamber (a) is so shaped that laminar flow obtains partly across the chamber and produces a low-pressure region 85 and (b) includes a portion 96 which diverts part of the fluid back to the side of the main jet thereby creating a high-pressure region which assists the low-pressure region in stabilizing the position of the jet. Vents 98, 99 allow the device to operate into a high impedance load without switching, and ports 92, 93 admit control pulses. In a second embodiment, Fig. 7, the device is given a mono-stable characteristic by aiming the inlet jet 100 towards one of the output ports and by making one side of the chamber straight thereby preventing a low-pressure region forming.</p> |
