METHOD OF HEAVY HYDROCARBONS STEAM CRACKING AND EQUIPMENT FOR APPLICATION OF THIS METHOD

A process and apparatus for steam cracking of heavy hydrocarbons wherein a pair of first and second sequential steam cracking zones are utilized, the first such zone supplying a large heat flux of 10,000 to 70,000 Kcal/m<2>hr to the reaction mixture comprising heavy hydrocarbons and steam, and the second zone supplying a smaller heat flux of 1,500 to 10,000 Kcal/m<2>hr thereto. Deposition of carbon on the inside of a tubular reactor is prevented by steam cracking by the processs described.
