The invention relates to tetrahydrodibenzindoles of the formula I <IMAGE> in which R1 and R2 independently of one another, denote an ethyl or n-propyl group and the two R3 substituents are identical and denote hydroxy or acyloxy groups, in racemic form having the relative configuration 4R<*>, 5aS<*> or in the form of an optically active isomer having the absolute configuration 4S,5aR, process for their preparation and pharmaceutical compositions which contain these compounds.
