PURPOSE:To contrive to enhance fastness of a developed color image and color forming sensitivity, by a method wherein an organic compound having a specified melting point or an organic compound starting to be melted in a specified temperature range when being heated together with an electron-donative colorless dye is incorporated into a thermal color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:An electron-donative colorless dye (color former) and a color developer consisting of a uniform mixture of a polyvalent metal salt of an organic carboxylic acid and an organic polymeric compound compatible with the salt are individually dispersed in a water-soluble polymer (binder) by a means such as a ball mill. An organic compound having a melting point in the range of 50-120 deg.C or an organic compound starting to be melted in a temperature range of 50-120 deg.C when being heated together with the dye, (sensitizer), is also dispersed in a similar manner. After dispersion is completed, the three dispersions are mixed with each other to produce a heat-sensitive coating liquid, which is applied to a base, and is dried to obtain a thermal recording material. |
