The motionless cutting member (8) is arranged in a longitudinal space (7) provided between one of the jaws (3a) and a transversal support member (5). The top (8a) of the cutting member (8) is arranged at a level lower than that of the plane (11) connecting the faces of the jaw (3a) and of the support member (5), faces on which the film or sheath (1) circulates, and a vertically moving member (14) is capable of driving said sheath (1) or film in contact with the cutting member (8) during the longitudinal displacement of the latter for cutting purposes. The invention is used in machines intended to the manufacture of bags. |
