PURPOSE:To vary the density of picture elements and obtain an image output with an intermediate gradation, by superimposingly recording at the same part of a recording paper by using a repeated-recording multicolor ink film with which a density equal to I/N of the maximum attainable density is obtained by one-time recording. CONSTITUTION:The ink film 10 comprises a porous net form heat-resistant layer 12 on a thin base 11 formed of a polyester or the like, the layer 12 being impregnated with a heat-fusible ink which constitutes a transfer material. The ink film 10 is so conditioned that a density equal to I/N of the maximum attainable density is obtained by one-time recording. A color multi-ink film 4 coated sequentially with yellow, magenta and cyan inks is directed between a recording head 3 and a platen 2 together with a recording paper 1. The ink film 4 is released at an ink-releasing part 5. |
