PURPOSE:To attain to enhance productivity and reliability, by providing a means for selecting and setting a driving condition preset at every kind of a recording head or a maker on the basis of the discrimination code of a discrimination code generating means. CONSTITUTION:When a recording head A is assembled in an apparatus main body B and a power source is closed at the time of assembling, circuit driving voltage Vcc is supplied to the recording head A from a power source circuit 13 and preset discrimination codes ID1, ID2 are generated from a discrimination code generation circuit 5. CPU6 introduces the discrimination codes ID1, ID2 through an input/output circuit 12 and discriminates the maker of the recording head A from the signal levels of said codes and selectively read the driving condition optimum to the discriminated maker from ROM7 to set the same to RAM8 and, thereafter, transfers to recording control operation. Therefore, the current supply recording pulse width optimum to the recording head A is set and a current is supplied to each heat generating resistor to drive the same. As a result, the heat generating resistor receives current supply driving under an optimum condition without exceeding rated power and the erroneous setting of a driving condition can be certainly prevented. |
