<p> A morphine-like amidated opioid octapeptide metorphamide having the structure Tyr-Gly-Gly-Phe-Met-Arg-Arg-Val-NH<Sub>2</Sub> has been isolated from bovine caudate nucleus extracts and synthesized by solid phase peptide synthesis methods. Metorphamide is thus far the only natural opioid peptide have a high µ-binding activity.</p> |
