<p>57 A lubricating oil composition with improved corrosion inhibiting properties comprises a major amount of a lubricating oil base stock and an effective amount, normally 0.05 to 2% by weight, of a complex of (a) purine or a purine derivative with (b) an oil-soluble organometallic salt of a C<Sub>4</Sub> to C<Sub>22</Sub> fatty acid. Preferred complexes are formed from purine or 6-amino-purine with a metal oleate, especially copper or zinc oleate.</p> |
