The invention relates to a window wiper having a wiper arm to which a wiper blade can be coupled via a box-like connecting element made of elastic material. The connecting element lies with its side walls, which are connected to one another at the ends by means of transverse ribs, fitting against the side elements of the carrying bar of the wiper blade and surrounds the articulation bolt of the wiper blade with a locking receptacle arranged in its central region. An inlay made of hard material, which rests at least in certain sections against the side walls of the connecting element, engages in the spaces between the locking receptacle and the transverse ribs. Preferably, the inlay is constructed integrally with other window wiper components such as a wiper arm, a spoiler blade or a control lever. Optimum guidance of the wiper blade is obtained by means of the inlay.
