A device for supplying a low-voltage incandescent lamp, especially a low-voltage halogen incandescent lamp, from a DC or AC supply-voltage network contains a converter which converts the supply voltage into a high-frequency AC voltage and is connected to the primary winding of a transformer, to whose secondary winding the low-voltage incandescent lamp is connected. The device operates with high efficiency and makes possible a considerably reduced power consumption for the same dimensions as in the case of a conventional incandescent lamp of the same brightness, or a considerably greater light yield for the same power consumption.
