发明名称 Method and Apparatus for Producing and Inserting Insulation in the Slots of Magnetic Cores and Slot Liners for such Cores
摘要
1,194,085. Making magnetic core slot liners. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. 10 June, 1968 [17 July, 1967], No. 27402/68. Heading B3A. [Also in Divisions B6 and H2] A method of making slot liners for magnetic cores and inserting them therein comprises; feeding dielectric strip material 14 to a sizing and forming station B, forming strip pieces from the strip material, shaping individual strip pieces with forming tools 80, 135 supported adjacent the sizing and forming station and transferring the formed strip pieces 70 into the slots of the magnetic core. The strip material 14 is fed to a feed station A in a predetermined quantity by supply means 32 to a device 34 and it is urged towards a stop plate 62 at station B. The device 34 is biased towards the plate 62 by springs 37, 37a and the material 14 pivots the device 34 against the action of the springs about a bar 34a. Strip pieces 70 are then cut by a blade whereupon they are formed around the tool 80, which has a cross-section generally conforming to that of the core slot. The formed strip pieces are transferred to the slot by the tool 80 in co-operation with a pressure bar 135 externally of the core. To form slot liners of different configurations continuously, a master drive shaft 120 is provided with driving means 140, 150, 160 and is driven by a motor 48 via a worm drive 127, 123. The motor 48 also periodically drives supply rolls 38, 40 of the feed station A through a clutch 46, which is controlled by a proximity switch 35, to supply a predetermined amount of strip material 14. A cam 142 of the driving means 140 oscillates a follower 144 to cause periodic rise and fall of a carriage 85, which carries a plate 87 on arms 85a, 85b. The plate 87 oscillates rocker assembly 91 against springs 96, 96a, thereby reciprocating the cutting blade 64. Tools 80, 81, 82 are mounted on a tubular member 181, which is is rotatable about a shaft 132 terminating in a mandrel 130 on which a stator core 12 is mounted. The tools are of different cross-sections and correspond with those of the stator slots. Extensions 88, 88a, 89 on the liner 10 are formed between legs 117, (119), Fig. 13 (not shown), in co-operation with forming means 109, Fig. 11. To assist in the formation of the extensions the strip edge 14a is folded over by a spiral groove 15 in a guide 22, thereby forming a crease 14b. If required, both strip edges may be so creased. A cam 151 and a Geneva type follower 152 in co-operation with a gear train 154-157 rotate the shaft 130 step-by-step, and a gear 132a on the shaft 132 rotates a cam 158. The cam follower 159 oscillates a shaft 170, the motion of which is transmitted to the member 181 by a gear segment 172 and gear 174, thereby aligning the required tool 80-82 with a core slot. The shaft 170 is also connected to a bar cam 194 via bevel gears 185, 186 and a linkage 190. The bar cam actuates two followers 137, 138, the former being secured to the stop plate 62 and the latter to the blade 64, Fig. 15. Cam sections 335, 336 are shaped with three positions so that the strip 14 can be cut to correspond in length to the size of the core slot. A switch 261 actuated by the worm-wheel 123 and a switch 262 actuated by the gear 157, stop the motor 48 when both are closed at the same time. The gear ratios concerned are so selected that this occurs after every slot has received its liner. A cam 161 and follower 162 oscillate a shaft 163 and these oscillations are converted into a reciprocating motion of the tool 80 by a linkage 110. The reciprocatory stroke is varied by adjusting one end of an arm (110d) in a slot (110e) in an arm (110a), Fig. 10 (not shown). The arm (110b) drives a carriage 102 which is provided with a depending spring-loaded leg 124, engaging in a notch (126) in the tool 80. Should the tool encounter an obstruction in the core slot, continued forward movement of the carriage lifts the leg 124 by means of the camming action of an edge (240) on a pin (242) on the leg, thereby disconnecting the carriage from the tool, Fig. 14 (not shown).
