In order to ensure, in a heater and ventilation device for motor vehicles with an air outlet nozzle which serves to provide ventilation with external air, that when the external temperature is cold an air stream leads into the head space which is not too cold it is proposed that the closure flap for the air outlet nozzle is arranged in front of the air outlet nozzle at a distance which is necessary for example for mixing two air streams and that the end of a mixing air channel which opens into the external air channel or joins the latter is located in their area, which mixing air channel is to be closed or to be opened simultaneously with the external air channel by means of the closure flap.
