PURPOSE:To attempt cooling of a building and melting of the snow by connecting a slit pipe which has slits on both sides and a partition wall in the center to a duct and arranging the duct at right angle to the tile ledge. CONSTITUTION:When the ventilation opening of an air shutter 6 is opened and an intermediate ventilation fan 4 is driven, the air in the space 7 under the small roof flows to a slit pipe 2 through an intermediate ventilation fan 5, ventilation opening, intermediate ventilation fan 4, heat-insulation duct 3, and duct 41. Because the ends of the slit pipe 2 are covered with caps 14, the air exits uniformly through the whole slits 8. During summer day time the hot air in the space 7 under the small roof is exhausted to outside, and for room cooling the switch of the intermediate ventilation fan 4 is changed over to drive the intermediate ventilation fan 5, and the cool air made under the roof tiles 1 is drawn into the space 7 under the small roof to cool the whole building. In winter, a slide shutter 21 shuts off the air flow by closing the ventilation openings 19 and 20. In areas where snow accumulates, the heat in the building is transmitted to snow through the roof tiles 1 to melt the snow.
