PURPOSE:To improve starting capability and prevent coloring caused by break of electroconductive film by forming translucent electroconductive film inside a glass tube at 100mm. spaces from the end of the tube so that resistance distribution is specified. CONSTITUTION:A rapid start fluorescent lamp is formed by arranging a translucent electroconductive film 2, a protection film 3 comprising alumina fine powder, and a fluorescent material film 4 on the inner surface of a glass tube 1 and sealing gas containing xenon or krypton. Resistance distribution along tube length direction of translucent conductive film 2 is specified so that the films are separated at 100mm. spaces from the both ends of the tube, and the partial resistance of both ends is 50kOMEGA or more, the resistance of nexed segments is 10- 40kOMEGA, and that of each of the other central segments is 1-20kOMEGA. Glow discharge is easy to extend to the central part and starting capability is improved, and coloring caused by mercury deposition in the vicinity of electrode in initial stage of ignition is also suppressed. |
