PURPOSE:To eliminate the increase not only in the load of a drive system but also in the number of parts and to make it possible to absorb backlash even at the time of paper feed in both forward and backward directions, by setting the positive driving quantity of a drive motor to the magnitude wherein driving quantity for setting off reverse rotary driving quantity is added to the driving quantity corresponding to paper feed quantity. CONSTITUTION:A character (p) is the driving quantity corresponding to desired paper feed quantity, a character (q) is the driving quantity absorbing the backlash between three gears 10, 11, 12, a character alpha is minute driving quality in the same direction as (q) and a character gamma is driving quantity the same to (q)+alpha in a reverse direction. In a first paper feed method, a stepping motor 1 is driven so as to be rotated by (q)+alpha in the direction reverse to a paper feed direction and subsequently driven so as to be rotated by quantity, wherein setting-off quantity (r) setting off the driving in the reverse direction is added to (p), to a positive direction. In a second paper feed method, the motor 1 is driven so as to be rotated by (p)+(q)+alpha to the positive direction being a paper feed direction and subsequently driven so as to be rotated by the setting-off quantity (r) in the reverse direction. When the first method was employed at the time of paper feed in the positive direction, the second method is employed at the time of paper feed in the reverse direction. |
