PURPOSE:To ensure diagnosis of faults, by judging the faults of a fuel gage itself or its system based on the change in the remaining quantity of fuel and a signal indicating the running state of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:The output of a fuel sender, which is provided in a fuel tank, is converted into a voltage by a multiplexer 3. The voltage is further converted into a digital signal by an A/D converter 10 and inputted into a microcomputer 11. The microcomputer makes a fuel display meter 12 display the remaining quantity of fuel. When the microcomputer 11 detects the fact that the change in output of the A/D converter 10 is absent continuously for a specified time period or the fact that a vehicle is running based on the output of a phototransistor, the fault of a fuel gage itself or its system is displayed on the fuel display meter 12. |
