PROCESS FOR PREPARING(PIPERIDINYLALKYL)QUINAZOLINE DERIVATIVES

(Piperidinylalkyl)quinazoline derivs. of formula (I) and their pharmaceutically permissible acid-addn. salts are prepd. by reacting compds. of formula (II) with compds. of formula (III) in an inactive solvent and in the prsence of a base. In the formulas, Alk is C1-4 alkylene; Q is quinazolinyl, the 1,2,3 or 4-position of which is connected with the alkylene side chain; R is H or OH; Z is -X-Ar; Ar is aryl; X is C=O, CHOH or CH2; and W is halo. Prods. are useful as potent serotonin antagonists for anticongestive use.
