<p>Hot-cell air lock in the form of a tent of plastics material for fitting over the doorway of a cell used for handling radioactive materials, the tent being open at two faces at right angles and being arranged so that air-tight joints can be made around such open faces to the doorway and to a floor in front of the doorway, respectively. In an embodiment, the open faces are bounded by a tubular frame which is slotted along the sides which are to lie against the doorway and floor and contains a flexible inner gasket tube which projects through the slot to make the desired sealing engagements. The tent or the air-lock wall is pref. of PVC.</p> |
