PURPOSE:To make running-in automatic and improve the service by moving an image carrier till the extent of movement of the image carrier after detection of a detecting means, which detects the extent of movement of the image carrier, reaches a prescribed value and holding a blade operating means in the contacting state. CONSTITUTION:A service switch is turned on, and all of a main motor 10, drum and sleeve rotating clutches 13 and 4, etc. are turned on, and a drum 1 is rotated and is charged electrostatically uniformly, and a toner is attracted uniformly to the surface of the drum, and a photo interrupter 15 generates clock pulses, and they are counted by a counter. When the counted value reaches a value corresponding to a prescribed rotation quantity of the drum, all members except the motor 10 are turned off, and a solenoid is turned on to bring a blade 6 into contact with the stopped drum 1. Next, the drum 1 is turned on again, and the edge of the blade 6 becomes accustomed while cleaning the toner on the surface of the drum with the blade till the drum is rotated up to a prescribed rotation quantity corresponding to a prescribed counted value. |
