PURPOSE:To provide a titled exchange carriage which can exchange simply and easily a billet guide in short time by the constitution in which the billet guide is transferred to the carriage and is carried to the outside of the machine by a lifting device provided onto the exchange carriage carried into the underside of the billet guide. CONSTITUTION:An exchange carriage 8 of self-traveling type is carried into the underside of a billet guide 2 fixed to a stand 3 by means of a supporting bracket 4, a clamp 5, a positioning bracket 6, etc. in the lower part of a mold 1. Said clamp 5 is then loosened and a support 7 rotates the guide 2 around a supporting wheel 15 until the guide contacts with a supporting base 12 provided to the carriage 8 and thereafter the clamp 5 is removed. The hydraulic cylinder 10 on the carriage 8 is actuated to lift a lifting lever 11 via a lifting mechanism 9. Said lever is received by a pin 14 and the wheel 15 is removed from the bracket 4. The entire weight of the guide 2 is then transferred to the carriage 8 and thereafter the carriage 8 is moved by which the guide 2 is exchanged. |
