PURPOSE:The titled polymer usable as an anion exchanger of excellent durability, prepared by bonding a pendant chain terminated with a specified ammonium group to a perfluorocarbon polymer main chain. CONSTITUTION:The titled polymer is prepared by bonding a pendant chain terminated with an ammonium group of formula I (wherein R<1>, R<2>, R<3>, and R<4> are each a lower alkyl, and R<2> and R<3> may be combined together to form tetramethylene or pentamethylene, and Z is a counter ion to the quaternary ammonium ion) to a main chain comprising a perfluorocarbon polymer, e.g., a polymer comprising recurring units of formulas II and III (wherein p' and q' represent each an average value, and p'/q' is 2-16). This polymer is useful as an anion exchanger of excellent durability, especially, membraneous anion exchangers used in the field of electrodialysis. |
