PURPOSE:To minimize useless coating material when the coating material of a wire rod is changed by a method wherein as the filament continues to be extruded and coated, the supply of the coating material is changed and cutting is conducted at the boundary between the coated part of each material and the mixed part of these materials. CONSTITUTION:The wire rod W supplied from the supply device 1 is introduced into the extruder 2, the outside is coated with coating material, the coated filament obtained W' is cooled, then, hauled off by the haul off equipment 3, measured by the length instrument 5 and coiled by the coiler 4. The kind of coating material is changed to another when the filament length set to the length instrument has equalled the value obtained by subtracting the sum of the length of the filament extrusion coated with the first coating material left in the extruder 2 and the distance between the extruder 2 and the length instrument 5 from the length of the first color filament to be manufactured and the following color material is extruded and applied continuously. Then, when the output of the length instrument 5 has equalled with the value obtained by subtracting the distance from the product length, the speed of the coated wire is reduced. When the output of the length instrument has become the length of the product, the bobbin is changed to another one. Thereafter, the same operations are repeated continuously. |
