PURPOSE:The titled polymer useful as an intermediate for the synthesis of an anion exchanger of excellent durability, prepared by bonding a carboxamide group-terminated pendant chain to a perfluorocarbon polymer main chain. CONSTITUTION:The titled polymer is prepared by bonding a pendant chain terminated with a carboxaminde group of formula I (wherein R<1> and R<2> are each H, a lower alkyl, aromatic group, or a hydroxyalkyl or R<1> and R<2> may be combined together to form a tetramethylene or pentamethylene, e.g., a polymer comprising recurring units of formula II (wherein X is F, Cl, or CF3, R<1> and R<2> are as defined above, l is 0-5, m is 0 or 1, n is 1-5, p' and q' mean each an average value, and p'/q' is 2-16). This polymer is useful as an intermediate for the synthesis of anion exchangers of excellent durability, especially, membraneous anion exchangers used in the fields of electrodialysis, diffusion dialysis, and a variety of batteries. |
