PURPOSE:A millable urethane rubber compound capable of providing a crosslinked cured product which, though not containing any reinforcing filler, can show a strength at least equal to that of a cured product obtained by adding reinforcing filler, containing a specified cocrosslinking agent. CONSTITUTION:Use is made of, as cocrosslinking agnet, an aluminum salt of an alpha,beta-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid [e.g., aluminum (meth)acrylate]. Namely, 100pts.wt. radical-crosslinkable millable urethane rubber (e.g., Urepan- 640, a product of Bayer A.G.) is mixed with about 1-10pts.wt. organic peroxide (e.g., dicumyl peroxide) as a crosslinking agent, about 5-30pts.wt. above cocrosslinking agent and, optionally, other additives such as a processing aid (e.g., stearic acid), another cocrosslinking agent (e.g., triallyl isocyanurate), etc. |
