FORMATION OF IMAGE ON PHOTOCONDUCTIVE FILM MEMBER

The reproduction method consists of charging the photoconductive film to a potential and following with the exposure and immediate development. The sensitivity of the film varies with the charge. By monitoring the image brightness during the charging stage these values can be compared with a reference signal. The circuitry can be used to vary the exposure at a constant charge level, or alternatively, to vary the charge level for a constant exposure. The values are selected to fall within optimum limits to obtain reproductions of the highest quality from the material in use.
