PURPOSE:To produce a metallic strip having good quality in large amt. by melting a base alloy in a crucible, discharging the melt through plural discharge ports provided at a suitable interval to the crucible onto the surface of cooling rolls and cooling quickly the melt. CONSTITUTION:Four melt discharge ports 6a, b, c, d formed between separators 7-11 are provided in the nozzle 1a of a crucible 1 having a coil 4 for heating and a base alloy is melted in said crucible 1. The melt is discharged from the ports 6a- and is quickly cooled on the surfaces of twin rolls 2, 3 by which four amorphous or crystalline metallic strips 5a, b, c, d are simultaneously obtd. The spacing between the ports 6a- is adequately set to prevent the strips 5a- from sticking to each other on the rolls 2, 3. The strips 5a- having good quality is thus produced in large amt. |
