PURPOSE:To prevent oligomer from adhering to an auxiliary electrode or electrode cover by a method wherein oxidation catalyst is carried onto the auxiliary electrode or the electrode cover, which is provided opposite to a rotary cooling surface with respect to an electrode. CONSTITUTION:Normally, an auxiliary electrode or cover is installed opposite to a rotary cooling surface with respect to a main electrode. However, another auxiliary electrode or cover may also be installed opposite to a molten film. The auxiliary electrode or electrode cover is made either of conductive material or of insulating material. Oxidation catalyst is carried onto the surface of the auxiliary electrode or electrode cover. Platinum group metal is preferable as the oxidation catalyst. The carrying method of catalyst is to carry the oxidation catalyst directly by depositing, plating or the like, for example. In order to efficiently oxidize the oligomer on the auxiliary electrode or electrode cover, it is necessary to heat the electrode up to 150 deg.C or higher, preferably 200 deg.C or higher. The heating of the electrode is done with a heater embedded in the auxiliary electrode or electrode cover or by the radiant heat with an infrared heater. |
