PURPOSE:To prevent the temp. of the top of a blast furnace from rising by detecting the temp. and charging starting materials contg. water fed at the outside of the furnace when the temp. exceeds a set value. CONSTITUTION:A spray 3 for sprinkling water on starting materials (m) on a conveyor 2 for charging the materials (m) into a blast furnace 1 is placed close to the conveyor 2, and an on-off valve 4 is attached to the spray 3. A temp. detector 6 is attached to a gas riser at the top of the furnace 1, and the detected value is sent to a comparator 8. The comparator 8 compares the detected value to a set value from a setter 7. An operator 9 calculates a water sprinkling time on the basis of a signal from the comparator 8, and a water sprinkling controller 5 controls the valve 4 in accordance with the calculated value. |
