PURPOSE:To obtain a steel sheet having improved suitability to phosphating and superior corrosion resistance after coating by irradiating the surface of a steel sheet with electron beams to activate the surface layer. CONSTITUTION:The surface layer of a steel sheet is simply activated by irradiating the surface of the steel sheet with electron beams for a short time, so phosphate crystals are densely formed by phosphating to improve the corrosion resistance after coating. Said method is also effective in activating a steel sheet after removing the oxide film by pickling, mechanical polishing or chemical polishing. The pickled steel sheet may be neutralized, washed, and dried. |
