PURPOSE:To prevent deposit of a forging stock and to provide a reduction in heating cost, etc. by using a combustion type heating furnace and heating the forging stock up to the prescribed temp. then using an induction heating furnace and heating the material up to the optimum temp. for forging. CONSTITUTION:A steel billet 4 fed from a direction A enters a preheating chamber 7 and is preheated by the exhaust gas of a combustion type heating furnace 1. The billet 4 is then heated up to the max. temp. in the range where the billet does not weld during passing in a ceramic tube 3. The billet 4 is thereafter measured in temp. by a temp. measuring device 15 in a temp. measuring chamber 8 and is heated up to the optimum temp. for forging in an induction heating furnace 13. The device 15 is connected to a heating control device 16 which controls conduction of electricity to a coil 14 to heat the billet 4 up to the optimum temp. for forging. The heating energy is decreased by such mechanism, by which the variance in the heating temp. is reduced and further the deposit of the billet 4 during heating is prevented as well. |
