The invention relates to a printed compact mini-cassette reading device. It comprises a mechanism for driving the printed tape 23, by an electric motor 11, whose speed of rotation is adjustable. A bulb 25 emits light which passes through a light condenser 26 and then through the transparent printed tape 23, then through one or two convergent or divergent lenses 28 and 29 and is then reflected on a mirror 30 at forty five degrees onto an opaque screen 31 on which the reading is carried out. The brightness is adjustable. The compact mini-cassette casing is little different from the standard model used for magnetic tape recorders; however it comprises an additional orifice and the plastic tape is printed on two tracks. The purpose of the device which is the subject of the invention is to facilitate reading and to avoid certain disadvantages due to books. <IMAGE>
