The device consists of a diaphragm 5 mounted on a case 1. One end of a flexible conductor 14 is connected to the diaphragm and its other end is connected to a terminal 16 carried by an insulating plate 9. The insulating plate 9 also carries a resistive element 10 whose terminals 11 and 12 are connected to a voltage source. When the diaphragm 5 is deformed, the point of contact 18 of the deformable conducting element 14 is displaced on the resistive element 10 and the voltage received at the terminal 16 is therefore a function of the force exerted on the membrane 5. <IMAGE>
