This assembly of the sides of a frame made from wood or another material is obtained by means of corner braces made from plastic material whose branches are engaged forcibly in longitudinal grooves provided for this purpose in the concealed rear face of the four sides of the frame and opening out, face-to-face, in their ends bevelled at 45 DEG when the latter have been applied against one another. The lateral faces of the branches of these corner braces 3 comprise teeth 8 which are suitably distributed and slightly inclined from top to bottom towards the free end of the branches, for example by 5 DEG , such that, when the branches of such a corner brace are driven into the convergent grooves of two sides of a frame whose bevelled ends have been brought close to each other, the inclined teeth of the branches exert thereon a pressure forcibly applying their bevelled ends on each other. <IMAGE>
