The invention proposes an arrangement (4) for closing a hole (2) subjected to pressure, by means of a closure plug (5), a sealing device (6) and a stop device (18) for limiting the movement of the closure plug (5) towards the unpressurised side of the hole (2). The stop device (18) is of multi-part construction, comprising annular sectors (8', 8'', 8''') of an annular disc (8) which can be inserted into a relatively wide groove (10) in the hole (2) and is held in position in the said hole after being placed in a common plane. By virtue of the annular sectors (8', 8'', 8''') lying in one plane and assembled to form the complete annular disc, a safeguard against it being moved out in the radial direction is not required, with the result that the arrangement is simple, reliable and space-saving in construction. <IMAGE>
