The subject-matter of the invention is a circuit for synthesizing monotonal functions which are linear in sections. The circuit is constructed in such a manner that it can be used for the synthesis of linear, monotonal functions and the circuit following therefrom for linearising non-linear monotonal characteristics of measurement sensors, any desired approximation of the sensor functions being possible. From an analysis of the circuit, taking into account the non-ideal properties of the components, it can be seen that the influences of the diodes (Uk - knee-point voltage, rd - differential resistance) are obviated. Only the influences of the operational amplifier (Uoff, Ioff, Ib) still remain. <IMAGE>
