PURPOSE:To obtain the titled highly compatible composition from an aqueous copolymer derived from each specified amount of silicone-contg. monomer of specific structure, alpha,beta-ethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid, multivalent unsaturated monomer and another vinyl monomer. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be obtained from an aqueous copolymer made by copolymerization, at constant temperature (ca. 60-140 deg.C), with incorporation of radical initiator and organic solvent (e.g., methanol), between (A) 0.01-5wt% of at least one sort of silicone-contg. monomer of formula I or II(R1 is H or methyl; R2 is H or 1-4C alkyl; n is 1-12) (e.g., vinyl trimethoxysilane), (B) 2-60wt% of alpha,beta-ethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid (e.g., itaconic acid). (C) 1-20wt% of at least one sort of multivalent unsaturated monomer (e.g., ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) and (D) the rest of another vinyl monomer (e.g. methyl acrylate).
