<p>A protection covering for parts of machines comprises a foldable support (3) of which the outer side is provided with a covering formed of lamellae (1) overlapping each other like scales. The lamellae (1) are secured by means of bands (2) to the foldable support (3). Textile ribbons are preferably used for the bands (2). Each band (2) is secured on one hand to a lamella (1) and on the other hand to a pleated wall (13) of the support (3) and comprises a loose intermediary section (22) separating the terminal section (23) directed towards the support from the terminal section (21) directed towards the lamellae. Thus, the outer lamella (1) of the neighbouring overlapping lamellae (1), under gravitational effect, is completely or partially on top of the inner lamella (1). This characteristic enables to obtain, simultaneously with an efficient protection on the top face of the support (3) by means of the lamella covering, a pleated protection covering which is simple from a construction point of view and is telescopic up to occupying the smallest possible room.</p> |
