The invention relates to a method and device for representing harmonic relationships between tones, audible voltages between a single tone and a pre-defined basic chord being displayed visually. A chord to be examined is entered on an input keyboard (1), voltage values inherent in the tones of this chord being calculated in a logic circuit (2) in relation to the pre-defined initial tonality. The calculated values are stored in an output unit (3) and visually represented on a visual display unit (4), the different voltage values of the tones being visually represented by means of a correspondingly different flashing frequency of the LEDs of the visual display unit (4) assigned to these tones (Fig. 3). <IMAGE>
