PURPOSE:To keep off the excessive load of a chain as well as to prevent a beat noise from occurring, by forcibly pressing a pressure rod being inserted into a case to a tensioner by dint of a spring, while installing a Belleville spring interposingly between a camshaft and a bearing. CONSTITUTION:In case of a four-stroke-cycle engine, a chain 5 is rolled round on a sprocket 2 of a crankshaft 1 and a sprocket 4 of a camshaft 3, making them interlocking each other, and a pressure rod 8 is forcibly pressed to a tensioner 6 by dint of a spring. According to this method, when the chain 5 is stretched abnormally, a Bellevill spring 16 becomes bent and thereby a camshaft 12 is able to be somewhat shiftable downward so that the pressure rod 8 is retractable as far as a portion for that extent, thus abnormal tension in the chain 5 is preventable. Doing like this, unusual load is preventable from being imposed on the chain 5 whereby a beat noise can be prevented from occurring. |
