In the manufacture of bookbinding cases for books and loose-leaf binders, cardboard blanks are coated on one or both sides with covering material blanks. In order to be able to carry out this coating in an efficient manner, in particular for small-series manufacture, it is proposed that the cardboard be coated in advance on one or both sides with an adhesive which can be activated by heat.
