PURPOSE:To improve soldering strength by forming connection end faces between an edge member and a shank member into surfaces perpendicular to the axis of a tool, providing key ways in the end faces and soldering both members including the key surfaces to transmit cutting torque with a key. CONSTITUTION:A shank member 2 made of high speed steel or the like is formed with an end face perpendicular to the axis and having a key way 3 provided. Also, an edge member (not shown) made of sintered hard alloy or the like is provided in the same position as the above with a key way to be soldered to said shank member with silver solder or the like sandwiching copper plate. A key 4 may be at the same time soldered, while it may be soldered previously to the key way 3 in either the edge member 1 or shank member 2 to ease the operation. Further, when the solder is fused while a light torsional torque is applied in the direction of cutting torque in the soldering, the torque transmitting strength is improved. |
