PURPOSE:To prevent a grinding burn or the like from being caused even if dry grinding is performed, by using a polyurethane rubber bond as a binding agent for holding abrasive grains or an adhesive agent for adhesively attaching the abrasive grains to a metal bed, in the case of a grinding wheel for a grind-difficult material. CONSTITUTION:A cup-shaped metallic bed 1 provides on its upper surface 1a a circular annular groove 1b, in which diamond abrasive grains 2 are dispersed while a liquid-state polyurethane rubber bond 3 is injected to be hardened forming an abrasive grain layer 4, and then the abrasive grain layer 4 is protrusively provided by scraping off the upper surface 1a by the predetermined length. This binding agent 3 is a normal-temperature-setting polyurethane rubber bond linked with glycols by high molecularly forming prepolymer formed from diisocyanates. In this way, a grinding wheel, never causing a grinding burn and a grinding crack even if a grind-difficult material of titanium nitride system cermet or the like is dry ground, reduces also the resistance applied to the abrasive grain layer, enabling the continuous grinding even without performing dressing work. |
