<p>PURPOSE:To permit successively safe travelling by connecting a battery power source for an actuator and a controller through power fuses of a separate system to operate the actuator with an enmergency operating means when the power supply to the controller is stopped. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 2 of a controller 1 calculated normally on the basis of the outputs of a vehicle speed sensor 3 and a steering angle sensor 4 to operate an actuator 7 through a power transistor 6 and control a steering force corresponding to the vehicle speed. On the other hand when a power fuse 13 in the controller 1 is fused, power is supplied from a battery 14 in the controller 1 to the microcomputer 2 through a diode D2. Thus, the microcomputer 2 carries out fail-safe operation for controlling the power transistor 6 so that a predetermined steering force is provided fixedly to the actuator 7 according to an abnormality detecting program or the like.</p> |
